The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has introduced changes to the structure of front-line units, adding a new direction of combat operations – Northern Slobozhansky. The reason for this decision was the activation of Russian troops in the border areas of Sumy region.

This was reported by the press service of the department.

The General Staff noted that updating daily reports is designed to provide more accurate information to the public about the situation at the front and respond to new threats from the Russian Federation.

In addition, the General Staff renamed the Kharkiv direction – from now on it is officially called Yuzhno-Slobozhansky . Thus, both directions have a common regional identification, which allows for better structuring of operational information.

The new designations in the reports take into account the geographical specifics of the hostilities and should help in a clear understanding of the dynamics of events for both the military and the civilian population.

By the way, as part of evacuation measures , all residents of 60 settlements in the Sumy region left completely.

Earlier, Oleg Grigorov stated that the situation in Sumy region remains tense, but is under the control of the Defense Forces, so there are no reasons for evacuation from the regional center yet .

As it became known, Russian occupation troops are advancing in the Sumy region, in particular , the enemy has reached a distance that allows it to strike the regional center with FPV drones .

As a reminder, the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko stated that a new stage of the Russian ground offensive is underway in northern Ukraine. In the Sumy region, Russian troops continue to transfer infantry groups within the Yunakivska and Khotynska communities.
