On the night of March 26, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation, hitting the Kirishinsky Oil Refinery.

This was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is previously known that a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise, in particular, the flames engulfed the primary oil processing facilities and two tanks.

Currently, data on the extent of the damage has not been made public; the information is being clarified.

As the General Staff reported, the affected refinery is one of the largest refineries in Russia, and is among the top three.

The enterprise has an installed refining capacity of about 20–21 million tons of oil per year. The Kirishinsky plant accounts for more than 6% of the total volume of all oil refining in the Russian Federation.

The refinery produces various petroleum products, including fuel, which the occupation army uses for its own needs.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces will continue systematic measures to reduce the military-economic potential of the Russian Federation and reduce the ability to provide the occupation forces. The strikes will continue until the terrorist country completely abandons armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff noted.

As a reminder, on March 26, a massive drone attack was recorded in the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation . A series of powerful explosions thundered there.

Earlier, the Defense Forces struck a ship of the Russian occupiers at the Vyborg Shipyard in the Leningrad Region.

By the way, on the night of March 25 , the Defense Forces conducted an operation during which they managed to hit the Russian NOVATEK-Ust-Luga plant in the Leningrad Region.
