The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the defeat of a refinery in Tatarstan and a plant in the Russian Federation
On the night of June 12, 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of facilities in the territory of the Russian Federation. In particular, two oil refineries in Tatarstan were hit, as well as industrial and military targets in other regions of the Russian Federation. Fires were recorded at the affected enterprises and damage to the enemy’s infrastructure.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On the night of June 12, 2026, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation struck the TANEKO and TAIF-NK oil refineries in Nizhnekamsk. The destruction of targets and a fire on the territory of both enterprises were confirmed,” the General Staff said in a statement.
The department clarified that oil industry enterprises, which are of key importance for Russian industry, were hit.
“The TANECO oil refining complex is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in the Russian Federation. The design processing capacity is over 16 million tons of oil per year. The enterprise produces a wide range of fuels and lubricants,” the General Staff noted.
Another facility in the region was also confirmed to have been hit.
“The TAIF-NK enterprise is a large oil refining complex, which is distinguished by an extremely high depth of oil processing,” the post says.
In addition, the Togliattikauchuk plant in the Samara region was hit, where a fire also broke out.
“The Togliattikauchuk plant, which specializes in the production of synthetic rubbers, monomers, and high-octane fuel additives, was also hit. The target was hit and a fire broke out on the territory of the plant,” the General Staff reported.
It is separately noted that the Defense Forces also struck Russian military facilities: command posts, warehouses, communication hubs, and areas of concentration of enemy personnel in various regions.
“The Ukrainian Defense Forces will continue to systematically reduce the Russian aggressor’s capabilities to wage war against Ukraine,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concluded.
As reported, explosions were heard in several regions of Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula on the night of Thursday, June 11. There were reports of a drone attack on an oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory, as well as a series of strikes on military and logistical facilities in Crimea.
