The General Staff revealed how many Russian jet drones Ukrainian air defenses shoot down

The Ukrainian military has become increasingly effective at shooting down Russian jet attack drones. Over the past three months, air defense forces have destroyed an average of almost 60% of Geran-4 drones, with some attacks reaching 80%.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian combat aviation plays a significant role in the fight against jet drones. In particular, the military uses F-16, Mirage, and MiG-29 fighter jets to intercept such targets.

At the same time, the General Staff emphasizes that Ukraine needs to further strengthen the so-called small air defense, especially in the context of a shortage of anti-aircraft missiles.

These include Gepard and Shilka anti-aircraft systems, modern Skynex, Skyranger, and Terrahawk Paladin systems, as well as interceptor drones and mobile fire groups.

The latter use not only machine guns, but also portable anti-aircraft missile systems, with which they successfully destroy Russian jet drones.

In addition, the Ukrainian military continues to test new interceptor drones to reduce the cost of combating aerial targets.

The General Staff noted that individual models of such interceptors have already shot down several dozen Russian Geranium jets.
