The government allocated 1.5 billion hryvnias for housing for displaced people: details
The Government of Ukraine has decided to allocate UAH 1.5 billion in subventions for the arrangement and purchase of housing for internally displaced persons. The funds will be used to repair temporary residences, purchase houses in rural areas, and create modular towns.
This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.
According to her, the government continues to work on improving the conditions for accommodating internally displaced persons.
“We continue to work on improving the conditions for the accommodation of internally displaced persons. The government has decided to allocate 1.5 billion hryvnia in subventions for the arrangement and purchase of housing,” said Yulia Svyridenko.
In particular, 1 billion hryvnias are planned to be allocated for the repair and re-equipment of temporary accommodation. At the same time, 20% of all renovated premises must be accessible to people with disabilities and low-mobility groups.
Another 500 million hryvnias are earmarked for the purchase of houses in rural areas. The mechanism for purchasing such housing should be approved within a month after the relevant resolution comes into force.
In addition, the subvention will be used to purchase building materials and modular houses to create modular towns in front-line regions.
According to the Prime Minister, 100% funding from the state budget is planned for frontline regions. For other regions, co-financing will apply: 90% of the funds will be provided by the state budget, another 10% – by local budgets.
We would like to remind you that the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, together with Habitat for Humanity, is launching a project to find housing for internally displaced persons . As part of the initiative, they plan to evaluate and repurpose existing real estate for further settlement of displaced persons.
Earlier, it was reported about the expansion of the “eRecovery” program. Internally displaced persons who have lost their homes in temporarily occupied territories will be able to receive financial assistance from the state of up to 2 million hryvnias.
