The Cabinet of Ministers will allocate almost UAH 638 million to finance the Unified Telethon.
This was reported by political expert Oleksiy Golobytskyi.
According to him, such a decision raises questions about the priorities of budget spending during the war.
“Almost 650 million hryvnias for a telethon, which, apparently, is watched mainly by those who produce it. And this is against the background of the fact that military salaries remain at the level of about 20 thousand hryvnias,” noted Golobytskyi.
He also drew attention to the structure of the budget, a significant part of which is formed by international partners.
The expert emphasized that the issue of the effectiveness of the use of funds in a warring country requires a separate assessment and public discussion.
As previously reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law extending military conscription for three years after the end of the war . The document provides for the creation of a special fund in the budget, where these funds will be received.
As a reminder, the Central Election Commission admits that if the election process starts in Ukraine, the current format of the “United News” telethon may conflict with the requirements of election legislation and will need to be revised.
