The government has allocated an additional 36 billion hryvnias for the Ministry of Defense: the funds will be distributed in four areas

Today, October 8, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated an additional UAH 36.6 billion for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.
This was announced by the head of the Defense Ministry, Denys Shmyhal.
He noted that the allocated funds are a financial resource for strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.
They will be distributed in four directions:
- implementation of defense industry development programs;
- introduction of new technologies;
- expansion of defense industry production capacities;
- procurement of weapons and military equipment.
At the same time, another 500 million hryvnias will be allocated to support Ukrainian arms manufacturers.
“We are working comprehensively and systematically to strengthen Ukraine with domestically produced weapons that will inflict irreparable losses on the enemy,” the minister emphasized.
Previously, the Government approved amendments to the 2025 State Budget , which provide for increased spending and the defense sector.
As it became known, the 2025 state budget lacks funds for salaries for the Ukrainian military – the deficit is estimated at about UAH 300 billion.
