The government has increased gas prices for power plants: new tariffs will be in effect until 2026

The cost of gas used to generate electricity is increasing in Ukraine – the government has approved new tariffs that will remain in effect until the end of March 2026.

This is stated in government resolution No. 1306 of October 10.

The Cabinet of Ministers has determined updated prices for natural gas for energy sector enterprises. The cost will depend on the type of production cycle. Thus, for thermal power plants operating in the heat-generating mode, the price has been set at 21,000 hryvnias per thousand cubic meters.

For thermal power plants (TPPs) and CHPs operating in the condensation cycle, the price will be UAH 16,000. The same tariff is provided for gas turbine and gas piston plants that produce only electricity.

At the same time, for facilities operating in a combined cycle — that is, generating both heat and electricity — a higher rate of 21,000 hryvnias per thousand cubic meters has been established.

The new pricing rules will be in effect until March 31, 2026.

Let us remind you that the heating season will begin soon. At the same time , Russia has already destroyed 60% of Ukrainian gas production thanks to large-scale attacks on facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
