The government has increased social benefits to 4,000 hryvnias: which Ukrainians will receive assistance?

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to increase the monthly compensation for citizens injured at work who require care or medical support. The maximum amount of payments will now be 4,000 hryvnias.

It is noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at its meeting approved a new procedure for increasing monthly compensation for people who have suffered injuries or illnesses while performing their work duties and need long-term care or medical support.

As reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, the state assumes additional responsibility for those citizens who were injured at work, in order to provide them with proper living conditions and treatment.

“People should not be left alone with their problems after injuries or illnesses sustained at work. We are strengthening support for those who need outside care, medicines, and medical devices,” Svyridenko emphasized.

According to the decision, the amount of monthly assistance will depend on the degree of need of the victim for care or medical support. Four levels of payments have been established:

• 4,000 UAH – in case of need for special medical care along with provision of medicines or medical devices;
• 2000 UAH – for those who need constant external care and medical support;
• 1333 UAH — if you need household care and medical supplies;
• 800 UAH – if you only need sanitary and hygienic products and medicines.

The government explained that the increase in compensation is aimed at increasing social protection for citizens who have suffered from accidents at work or occupational diseases. It will also reduce the financial pressure on families who spend money every month on treatment or care for loved ones.

The decision has already been published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers and comes into force from the moment of publication.

Earlier, MP Ruslan Gorbenko reported that Ukraine is preparing an important reform – the salaries of military personnel who are not on the front lines may increase significantly . The authorities are already working on new pay standards that will bring them closer to the level of NATO countries.

The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on the payment of one-time assistance to relatives of soldiers killed in Russian captivity.

At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law on family assistance before and after childbirth. The law provides for an increase in a one-time payment to women after childbirth from UAH 10,300 to UAH 50,000.
