Starting today, entrepreneurs can take advantage of the government’s energy support package for small and medium-sized businesses.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko.
State support is aimed at businesses operating in socially important areas – pharmacies, shops, bakeries, coffee shops, workshops and other essential services. The program should help entrepreneurs partially offset costs and continue operating in conditions of energy restrictions.
The package provides two main support tools.
The first is energy assistance for individual entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs of the second and third groups with at least one employee can receive a one-time non-refundable assistance in the amount of 7,500 to 15,000 hryvnias, depending on the number of employees.
The funds can be used to purchase or repair generators and other power equipment, batteries, inverters, charging stations, solar panels and components, fuel for generators, as well as pay for electricity for autonomous operation during outages. The program works on the principle of “Own Business” grants, and the funds are credited to the Action.Card.
The second tool is preferential energy loans at 0% per annum. Micro, small and medium-sized businesses can receive up to 10 million hryvnias in credit under the “Affordable Loans 5-7-9” program. The loan is provided for a period of up to three years, and the funds can be used for generation equipment, including cogeneration plants and diesel, gasoline and gas generators.
Loan applications are already being accepted by the program’s partner banks, and energy loans are being considered on a priority basis. In general, lending will be carried out through banks throughout the country.
The government emphasizes that energy support should help businesses preserve jobs and provide people with essential goods and services during prolonged power outages.
As previously reported, the Government continues to work to ensure the stability of the state and support people in the face of an energy emergency.
As a reminder, the Government of Ukraine has decided to launch a pilot project on electronic employment through the Unified Information and Analytical System “Obriy” . The project is designed for 2 years and provides for the complete digitalization of the main stages of labor relations.
