The government has made amendments to the draft State Budget-2026: what is it about?

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, having made amendments, prepared the draft State Budget for 2026 for the second reading in the Verkhovna Rada.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.

She emphasized that all decisions are made in the context of the budget’s key priorities – security, defense, and social sustainability.

The government will direct the entire amount of its own revenues to the Ukrainian military.

At the same time, the state budget for next year provides for an increase in salaries for social workers – doctors and educators.

“The government is constantly looking for additional resources — both domestic and external — to ensure all necessary expenditures and obligations,” Svyrydenko noted.

According to her, in order to balance defense needs and social spending, the government has made some adjustments, including:

• total revenues will increase by UAH 27.8 billion by increasing the profit tax rate for banks from 25% to 50%;
• Expenditures will increase by UAH 33.6 billion: UAH 18.9 billion will replenish the reserve fund, UAH 6.6 billion will go to a phased increase in salaries for education workers.

“We count on the support of people’s deputies and hope for the speedy adoption of the 2026 State Budget,” the Prime Minister expressed her hope.
