The Government of Ukraine has banned disconnecting healthcare facilities from power supply during the application of restriction schedules. The relevant decision was confirmed at the Cabinet of Ministers level.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the ban is in effect within the framework of the government’s decision to ensure electricity supply in the autumn-winter period of 2025/26. Local authorities and responsible executors are obliged to ensure unconditional compliance with this decision.

In addition, regulatory authorities, in particular the State Energy Supervision Agency, have already begun inspections of possible violations of the government decision. Inspections are being conducted, in particular, in Lviv.

The Prime Minister emphasized that people’s health and lives cannot be the subject of manipulation or the basis for loud headlines.

As previously reported, some hospitals and all municipal electric transport in Lviv were disconnected from electricity. The city switched to new schedules due to the Government’s change in approach to defining critical enterprises.

As a reminder, on January 3, a large-scale power outage occurred in Berlin due to arson at the Lichterfelde power plant, leaving about 45,000 households and over 2,000 commercial properties without power.
