The government stopped the competition for the position of head of one of the strategic enterprises: what is the reason?

The Cabinet of Ministers has suspended the competition for the position of head of the strategic state enterprise “GTS Operator” due to an investigation into a corruption scheme at Energoatom.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.
She explained that the government made the appropriate decision because one of the finalists of the competition appears in the tapes released by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau as part of Operation Midas.
“Under such conditions, continuing the competitive procedure is incompatible with the principles of transparency, integrity, and trust in the process,” the official emphasized.
According to her, the competition will be resumed when additional checks on the integrity of the participants are carried out.
As a reminder, NABU and SAPO are conducting a large-scale operation “Midas” to expose corruption in the energy sector . According to the investigation, the activities of a high-level criminal organization were established, which controlled financial flows and personnel decisions in state energy structures.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision on the early termination of the powers of the Supervisory Board of NNEGC Energoatom.
By the way, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to urgently suspend the work of Vice President and member of the board of Energoatom NNEGC Jakob Hartmut.
As is known, against the backdrop of the exposure of the corruption scheme at Energoatom, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced an audit of all state-owned companies .
