Starting March 1, the Cabinet of Ministers will update the National Cashback program by changing the rules for accruing interest on purchases.

This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Starting next month, the percentage of charges will change. It will depend on the share of imports of certain categories of goods.

Instead of a 10 percent cashback, Ukrainians will receive

  • or 15% for Ukrainian goods in categories where imports exceed 35%, including clothing, footwear, cosmetics, household chemicals, pet products, stationery, cheeses, certain types of pasta and cereals, etc.;
  • or 5% for Ukrainian goods in categories whose imports are less than 35% – bread, meat, some types of dairy products, eggs, oil, vegetables, fruits, fish, canned goods, medicines, etc.

The Ministry of Digital Affairs promised to later publish a full list of Ukrainian goods for which cashback will be accrued.

“Ukrainians have already bought goods from domestic producers worth over UAH 63 billion. This is visible support for the Ukrainian economy,” the department noted.

It was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers planned to wind down the National Cashback program due to lack of funding.
