At night, Russian occupiers struck Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, resulting in power outages for consumers in the Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
Currently, emergency and recovery work is ongoing in places where safety conditions allow.
However, the most difficult situation with energy supply remains in the capital and the Kyiv region. There, hourly outage schedules are not in effect, and they promise to return to scheduled outages after the situation in the energy system stabilizes.
Network restrictions also continue in the Odessa region. Specialists in the region are continuing emergency and restoration work after previous enemy attacks.
Power outages have also been recorded in frontline and border areas, where hostilities are complicating the process of restoring supply.
In addition, due to the bad weather, 7 settlements in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions remain without electricity.
The Ministry of Energy noted that most regions have hourly outage schedules, but some regions use emergency outages due to equipment overload.
“We urge consumers to use electricity rationally throughout the day, especially during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening. This helps reduce the load on the system,” the agency said in a post.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the introduction of a state of emergency in Ukraine’s energy sector .
As a reminder, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the situation in the capital remains difficult – this is the first time such a scale has been observed since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
