The State Bureau of Investigation is conducting searches at the home of Vitaliy Shabunin, head of the Anti-Corruption Center.

This was reported by the CPC team.

As noted, searches are underway at Shabunin’s place of work in the Chuhuyiv district of the Kharkiv region. The team is aware that a mobile phone was seized from the head of the center.

At the same time, searches are being conducted at Shabunin’s home, where his wife and two children live.

The CPC team emphasized that the State Bureau of Investigation conducts searches without a court order.

“We assume that this is a criminal case against former commander Shabunin — Viktor Yushko, which concerns Vitaliy’s business trips to the NACP. We view these searches as another wave of attacks on Vitaliy Shabunin and the Central Criminal Police Office due to criticism of the Office of the President and personally Andriy Yermak,” the report says.

According to employees of the Anti-Corruption Center, Shabunin was recently specially transferred further away from Kyiv and Kharkiv so that his lawyers would not be able to arrive at the search site in time.

“The fact that the phone was taken away indicates the SBI’s desire to track all of Vitaliy’s contacts. As soon as we have more details, we will definitely report everything,” the CPC concluded.

It was previously reported that the State Bureau of Investigation opened two cases against the head of the Anti-Corruption Center, Vitaliy Shabunin, for forging documents and evading military service.
