The head of the Dmitrievskaya community died during Russian shelling after arriving to help people.

Taras Didich, head of the Dmitrievka community in the Kyiv region, was killed on August 29 as a result of Russian shelling. He arrived at the scene of the attack to help the victims.

This was announced by the Minister of Renewal, Infrastructure and Transport of Ukraine, Mykola Kalashnik.

“He was one of the first to arrive at the scene of the attack to help the people. Because he couldn’t do otherwise. For over 30 years, since 1994, Taras Tarasovich led the community, lived its problems, and knew every street and every village. He always remained with his people.

He didn’t abandon them during the Russian occupation either – he was there, supporting and helping, keeping the community going during one of the most terrible periods,” Kalashnik wrote.

Former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, also reported Didich’s death. He stated that when the community leader arrived at the scene of the attack, an explosion occurred, killing him.

Tymoshenko recalled working with Didich in Dmitrovka in August 2022, when they handed over the keys to the first five new houses to families who had lost their homes due to Russian shelling.

Just a few months earlier, there were only pits in their place, but that day, people were entering their new homes for the first time. “He knew every person and cared for the residents of the community as if they were his own family!” Tymoshenko wrote.
