In Iran, the head of intelligence for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Majid Khademi, was killed in an airstrike.

This was reported by Iranian media, as well as Israeli officials, including Defense Minister Israel Katz , The Times of Israel reports.

In a statement to the Tasnim news agency, the IRGC confirmed that Khademi was killed in an airstrike. Israel also claimed responsibility for the assassination.

“Iran’s leaders live with a sense of persecution. We will continue to persecute them, one after another,” Katz said.

Majid Khadem headed the IRGC’s Intelligence Defense Organization and Intelligence Organization. He assumed the post just a few months ago following the assassination of his predecessor, Mohammed Kazemi, who was killed in Israeli airstrikes in 2025.

This is the second assassination of the IRGC intelligence chief, indicating an escalation of tensions between Iran and Israel.

Trump earlier said the US and Iran had held talks, following which he ordered a five-day halt to the strikes .

Subsequently, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported that there were no direct negotiations with the United States , and Trump did not abandon his military plans.

Let us recall that on February 28, the United States began a military campaign in Iran .
