The heating season officially starts in Ukraine on October 28

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the official start of the heating season is scheduled for October 28.
The head of state said this during a conversation with journalists the day before, an Ukrinform correspondent reports .
“In some communities, hospitals, schools, and other social institutions have already begun to heat up. But across the country, the heating season officially starts on October 28,” Zelenskyy noted.
The President added that work is underway in all regions to restore critical infrastructure facilities that were damaged by Russian attacks.
As a reminder, on October 23, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate UAH 8.4 billion from the state budget reserve fund to ensure the stable passage of the 2025–2026 heating season.
We will remind you that the other day Ukrenergo announced that within the next ten days the heating system will be operational in all settlements of the country .
It was also previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is preparing to launch a new social program “Warm Winter” , which will provide for a one-time payment of 6,500 hryvnias to certain categories of citizens for support during the winter period of 2025/26.
