The hottest summer in history: new temperature records were recorded in a number of regions of Ukraine

On Thursday, August 6, daytime maximum temperatures in some regions of Ukraine exceeded previous historical records for this date. According to meteorological stations, the increases ranged from 0.7 to 4.3 degrees.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

According to meteorological stations, new record temperatures were recorded in some regions of the country.

The highest temperature among the cities where records were set was recorded in Rivne and Kyiv – 39°C each. In Lutsk, the air warmed up to 38.6°C, in Uzhhorod – to 38.4°C, in Zhytomyr – to 38.3°C, and in Chernihiv – to 38.2°C.

Temperature records were also set in Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk – 37.8°C each, Vinnytsia – 37.6°C, Lviv – 37.3°C, Chernivtsi – 37.3°C, and Khmelnytskyi – 35.7°C. In Mykolaiv, the temperature reached 38.8°C.

The hydrometeorological center noted that the published map only shows record values recorded in regional centers.

By the way, Ukraine has a few more days of abnormal heat to endure. Starting from August 7 in the west, and on August 8-9 in most regions, the temperature will start to drop, and along with the cooler air, rains and thunderstorms will arrive.
