International Tennis Federation Maintains Sanctions Against Russia and Belarus

The International Tennis Federation has upheld sanctions against Russia and Belarus, keeping their national teams barred from international team competitions.

The Tennis Federation of Ukraine reported this.

During the meeting, federation representatives considered two proposals. The first concerned returning the Russian and Belarusian national teams to international team competitions, and the second concerned restoring the membership rights of these countries’ tennis federations.

However, neither proposal received the necessary support. As a result, all current restrictions remain in force.

As a result, Russia and Belarus will no longer be able to compete in team tournaments under the auspices of the ITF, and their national federations will remain without full membership.
