The Kremlin has officially spoken about the impasse in negotiations with Ukraine. The Russian dictator’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, admitted that the negotiation process between Kyiv and Moscow is at a standstill.
This is reported by Russian media.
According to him, although the channels of communication between the parties remain open, there is no talk of any progress.
“Now we can talk about a pause in the negotiations. You shouldn’t wear rose-colored glasses – this process requires time and gradualness,” Peskov said, effectively admitting the absence of any agreements.
The Kremlin representative also tried to shift responsibility to the West, accusing the leaders of European countries of allegedly “impeding peace efforts.”
This is not the first time that Moscow has tried to create the illusion of “peacefulness” by accusing others of unwillingness to negotiate. At the same time, Russia itself continues its daily shelling of Ukrainian cities and attempts to escalate the conflict on the front.
Recall, Russia expressed expectations for the resumption of the negotiation process aimed at ending the war against Ukraine . According to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the heads of delegations of both sides continue to maintain direct contact.
As reported, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said thata meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia is not yet possible, as the parties are “not yet ready” for dialogue at the highest level.
