The Kremlin allegedly confirmed an “energy truce,” but only until February 1
Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that US President Donald Trump asked Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin to refrain from strikes on Kyiv until February 1, and he allegedly agreed.
Peskov told reporters about this, Russian media reported.
“Trump did indeed make a personal request (to Putin – ed.) to refrain from strikes on Kyiv in order to create favorable conditions for negotiations for a week until February 1,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
When asked whether Putin agreed to fulfill Trump’s request, Peskov replied: “Yes, of course, it was Trump’s personal request.”
As you know, from February 1, Ukraine will be covered in frosts of up to -28 degrees.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the US initiative for an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia is only at the discussion stage , and Kyiv does not have any direct agreements with Moscow on a ceasefire.
As reported, the American Institute for the Study of War analyzed statements about a possible one-week moratorium on strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, announced by US President Donald Trump after a conversation with Vladimir Putin. Analysts believe that such a pause could allow Russia to accumulate resources for further attacks .
