The Kremlin announced a pause in the trilateral talks
Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, said that trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia are currently suspended.
This is reported by Russian media.
“The trilateral group is on pause,” he said.
At the same time, Kirill Dmitriev continues to work within the bilateral format between Russia and the United States.
Despite the pause in negotiations, Ukraine and Russia continue to interact on humanitarian issues — in particular, on the exchange of prisoners of war and the bodies of the dead.
Thus, even in the absence of trilateral negotiations, individual channels of communication between the parties remain open.
As a reminder, the peace process to end the war between Ukraine and Russia is in danger of collapse . According to diplomats, the reason for this is US President Donald Trump’s declining interest in negotiations and the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, which is distracting Washington’s attention.
As previously reported, US President’s Special Representative Steve Witkoff stated that new progress may appear in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in the near future.
