Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, said that Russia no longer expects the agreements allegedly reached during the meeting between Putin and Donald Trump in Anchorage to be fulfilled. According to him, Moscow is betting on achieving its own goals in the war against Ukraine.

This is reported by Russian media.

Ushakov, in an interview with Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin, stated that one of the parties had failed to fulfill the agreements allegedly discussed during the meeting in Anchorage. He did not specify who exactly he was referring to or what obligations had to be fulfilled.

“We are not waiting for the fulfillment of these understandings or agreements, we are waiting for victory. We are waiting for the realization of our own goals,” Ushakov said.

He also stated that one of the parties remains committed to the agreements, while the other, according to him, has failed to fulfill its part of the obligations.

“At the moment, one side, as before, is committed to the understandings that were discussed in Anchorage, and the other side, apparently, we can already say this now, has not been quite able to go its part of the way, to fulfill the agreements,” Ushakov said.

It is noted that previously Russian officials have repeatedly mentioned the “Anchorage understanding”, but did not disclose the details of possible agreements or explain what steps the parties were to take.

It is worth recalling that the meeting between Putin and Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, took place in August 2025, but its details were not made public.
