Smartphones, satellite Internet, and Western IT services have been officially declared “security threats” in the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
Thus, during the “Infoforum-2026” Dmitry Gribkov, Assistant Secretary of the Russian Security Council, stated that smartphones, satellite Internet systems such as Starlink, email, and other technologies of Western companies are allegedly used for “destructive information and technical influence” on Russia. These provisions are already being included in the new edition of the Information Security Doctrine.
“That is, this is not about the rhetoric of an individual official, but about a strategic official document that will become the basis for laws and state programs. The Security Council openly sets a course for “information sovereignty,” which in fact means further restricting access to the global Internet and technologies that are not controlled by the Kremlin,” the CPD post says.
The Center for Countering Disinformation notes that the Russian authorities no longer hide their intention to dismantle the remnants of the free Internet brick by brick, until Russians are left with only the Kremlin’s “white list” of digital resources.
As reported, in 2026-2027, Russia plans to massively return decommissioned Soviet and foreign-made aircraft to service due to an acute shortage of aircraft fleet.
