The Kremlin said it could extend US First Lady Melania Trump’s humanitarian initiatives to other war zones. She previously mediated negotiations for a local ceasefire in the Oleshky region of Kherson.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this.
According to Peskov, Moscow does not rule out similar agreements in other areas where hostilities are ongoing. He noted that American participation in such negotiations could help resolve humanitarian issues.
The Kremlin also said it highly appreciated Melania Trump’s efforts and those of American negotiators. Peskov believes that such cooperation could serve as an example for other humanitarian initiatives.
As a reminder, the White House previously reported that Melania Trump helped organize negotiations on a local ceasefire in Oleshki. To that end, she contacted Ukrainian and Russian leadership to agree on the terms of the ceasefire.
According to the US First Lady, she learned about the situation in Oleshki at an event in New York during the 81st UN General Assembly.
For negotiations, the parties used a communication channel they had established during the six stages of returning 34 children.
Ukraine and Russia previously agreed on a local ceasefire in Oleshki, Kherson region, starting October 29. The ceasefire should ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and preparation for the evacuation of the civilian population.
