Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not considering a temporary “freeze” of the war against Ukraine. The Kremlin considers this option ineffective.

This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to the Russian state news agency TASS.

According to him, Moscow allegedly advocates a long-term solution.

“A temporary freeze on the Ukrainian conflict will not help; a solution must be designed for future generations and guaranteed,” Peskov said.

At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman acknowledged that “a path toward a peaceful settlement” is not yet in sight. He thanked India for its willingness to join the negotiation process.

Despite the Kremlin’s statements, it is the Russian side that has repeatedly rejected Ukraine’s proposals to end hostilities and negotiate. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regularly calls on Moscow to stop the war and sit down at the negotiating table.

The Kremlin continues to declare that military operations will continue until all the goals of the so-called “SVO” are achieved.

Putin himself also rejected Zelenskyy’s proposal to hold talks on neutral territory. The Russian dictator insists on a meeting in Moscow.
