On Wednesday, July 22, a red-level magnetic storm covered the Earth. Geomagnetic activity increased to a K-index of 5, which corresponds to a moderate geomagnetic storm of the G1 level. Weather-dependent people, as well as those with cardiovascular diseases or blood pressure problems, may feel the changes the most.
The Meteoagent service and the British Geological Survey report an increase in geomagnetic activity.
According to experts, the cause was a high-speed flow of solar wind, which increased the impact on the Earth’s magnetic field.
“Periods of active geomagnetic conditions with possible G1-level storms are likely,” the scientists note.
During a magnetic storm, people may experience headaches, dizziness, weakness, drowsiness, blood pressure fluctuations, irritability, or sleep disturbances. People with chronic cardiovascular diseases should be especially attentive to their well-being.
Experts recommend getting more rest on this day, following a sleep schedule, drinking enough water, avoiding excessive physical exertion, spending more time outdoors, and limiting the consumption of alcohol, large amounts of coffee, and heavy meals.
