The man was in the CCC for almost seven days and could not notify his relatives – Lubinets

In the Lviv region, a man was held in the CCC building for almost seven days and, according to him, could not leave on his own. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets has launched an investigation and is demanding to find out on what grounds the man was held in the military registration and enlistment office for so long.

This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets on Facebook.

According to the documents, the policeman took the man to the first department of the Stryisky RTCC and the SP in Zhydachev on September 16 at 9:17 p.m. He left the CCC premises only on September 23 at 6:15 p.m.

Thus, the man spent almost seven days there. According to him, he could not leave the premises on his own.

After information about this case appeared on social media, Lubinets sent representatives of his Office to the CCC. Representatives of the Military Law Enforcement Service also joined the inspection.

The man was in a basement room, which is used as a shelter. Four beds were set up there. CCC employees provided food, and the room has a kitchen, bathroom, and ventilation. At the same time, during the inspection, they found that it was wet due to rain.

Lubinets stressed that it is now necessary to establish on what legal grounds the man was held in the CCC for almost seven days. They will also check whether he was able to inform his relatives and lawyer about his whereabouts and whether all the documents were properly executed.

The Ombudsman also wants to find out whether the premises of the CCC are being used as places where people are effectively held without the possibility of being released.

Lubinets sent requests to the Stryi RTCC and SP and the district police department. He also demands to preserve video recordings that could help establish all the circumstances.
