Russian occupation troops are continuing their attempts to wedge themselves between two important cities in the Donetsk region — Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka.
This was stated by the spokesman for the Khortytsia Regional Administrative District Viktor Tregubov during the telethon.
As he explained, by occupying the territory between the two settlements, the enemy will be able to pose a threat from the east to the Pokrovsko-Mirnograd agglomeration.
“They (the Russians — ed.) have the ambition to occupy as much territory as possible between Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka. This will allow both to create a threat to Pokrovsk, including the threat of partial capture, and to create an additional threat to Konstantinovka,” Tregubov noted.
Therefore, according to him, the Pokrovsky direction remains the most intense, and the resistance of Ukrainian troops there is also the greatest.
Tregubov emphasized that the fate of the Russian summer military campaign was being decided on this section of the front.
In addition, the enemy continues to make efforts to reach the Dnipropetrovsk region.
“This is the Novopavlivs’kyi direction, but again, despite all their great efforts, something slowed them down. They almost believed that they had entered the Dnipropetrovsk region, but as of now they have not,” the group’s spokesman assured.
He added that since the enemy’s infantry cannot reach, the Russian army is striking with guided aerial bombs at villages in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
As reported, the situation in the Pokrovskaya direction has deteriorated sharply after the resignation of Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty. Currently, the enemy is using the tactics of small assault groups trying to gain a foothold in urban areas, which threatens to flank the Pokrovskaya agglomeration.
As a reminder, on July 25, the movement of Russian equipment in the Pokrovsky and Novopavlovsk directions was recorded in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region.
