The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has several options for covering the $27 billion defense funding gap. Possible solutions include early mobilization of a portion of the European loan planned for next year, as well as additional financial assistance from other countries.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara stated this during a conversation with journalists, Ukrinform reports.

According to Khmara, the Ministry of Defense has already identified countries with which it plans to separately discuss the possibility of increasing financial support.

This applies both to countries that have not yet joined the relevant financial programme and to partners that may increase their contributions.

The Minister emphasized that Ukraine will present its partners with a specific plan for the Defense Forces’ requirements. It will include the tasks required to accomplish them, the expected results, and the timeframe for achieving them.

“The Ministry has identified partners with whom it should conduct separate communications to attract additional funding for specific defense needs,” Khmara noted.
