The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine proposes to amend the legislation, in particular, they provide for a 12-month deferment from mobilization for persons who served under the “Contract 18-24”.

This was reported by the press service of the department.

It is noted that the relevant draft law was developed by the Ministry of Defense, and was approved at a government meeting on Friday.

As the ministry explained, previously, volunteers who had completed their service could be registered and called up again. However, amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Mobilization Training and Mobilization” will eliminate this.

“The legally guaranteed postponement will allow volunteers to rest and, if necessary, undergo the necessary medical and social rehabilitation,” the press service added.

As you know, in February, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially launched the “Contract 18-24” project , a new format of voluntary service for Ukrainians aged 18 to 24. This is an initiative that allows young people to join the Defense Forces for one year, while receiving a high level of training, social guarantees, and competitive wages.

By the way, it was previously announced that the “Contract 18−24” program in Ukraine will be expanded to specialties related to drones.
