The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Ukrainian citizens who are in Iran to leave the country.

This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is emphasized that the security situation in Iran has become more complicated.

The Foreign Ministry has prepared accessible checkpoints through which Ukrainians will be able to leave the country:

  • Imam Khomeini International Airport (Tehran);
  • Border crossing point on the border with Armenia – Norduz/Agarak;
  • The border crossing point on the border with Turkey is Bazorgan/Serow.

The ministry promised that if the situation changes or additional routes are opened, up-to-date information will appear.

At the same time, it is recommended to follow the instructions of local authorities, not enter into conflicts with police representatives, and remain calm.

“If you find yourself in an emergency situation, or your life or health is in danger, we recommend that you immediately contact the Embassy of Ukraine in the Islamic Republic of Iran (hotline: +98 9128 436 681, email: emb_ir@mfa.gov.ua) or the 24-hour hotline of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine: +38 044 238 1588, email address cons_or@mfa.gov.ua,” the message says.

As is known,a wave of mass protests has erupted in Iran, caused by the rapid fall of the national currency and the worsening economic crisis . Against the backdrop of the collapse of the Iranian rial, the ayatollah regime is increasingly losing control of the situation, which is causing open resistance in various regions of the country.

Trump previously said the United States could intervene in Iran’s internal affairs if it brutally suppresses peaceful protests. He stressed that the United States is ready to support the demonstrators if the Iranian authorities use lethal force.
