The Ministry of Social Policy is developing a strategy for the return of Ukrainians from abroad: what is known about it

The Ministry of Social Policy is developing a Strategy for the Return of Ukrainian Citizens Currently Abroad. The document should define the principles of the voluntary return of Ukrainians home and provide state incentives for this process.

This was stated by the Minister of Social Policy, Denys Ulyutin.

According to the minister, the main goal of the strategy is to create conditions for the safe and voluntary return of Ukrainians who were forced to leave due to the war. He emphasized that the state does not intend to use any coercion.

“We will not be able to forcibly return them (people from abroad. – Ed.), and voluntary return must take place based on their specific wishes. This part on our part must be well thought out. We are currently working on this – namely on the Return Strategy,” Ulyutin noted.

The official clarified that work on the document is ongoing, and the Ministry of Social Policy plans to complete its preparation by the end of this year. The strategy will determine what social, economic, and administrative instruments can facilitate the return of citizens.

The ministry is also studying the international experience of countries that have implemented similar programs after wars or large-scale migration crises.

According to Ulyutin, these developments will help adapt the Ukrainian model to modern realities.

It was previously reported that next year the Cabinet of Ministers plans to allocate funds for the return of Ukrainians from abroad .

It is worth adding that in Ukraine there is an active movement of young people from a number of regions : the dynamics are especially noticeable in the western part of the country.

We remind you that in the first week after the changes regarding the travel abroad of men aged 18-22 came into effect, the number of trips to Poland increased by more than 10 times .
