The Moon will “bite off” part of the Sun: where is the best place to observe the astronomical phenomenon
Tonight, Earth’s inhabitants will have the opportunity to observe an astronomical phenomenon – a solar eclipse, during which the Moon will supposedly “bite off” part of the Sun.
It will start at 20:29 Kyiv time and peak at 22:41.
According to Time and Date forecasts, 16.6 million people will be able to see the rare phenomenon, which is 0.2% of the world’s population.
The solar eclipse will be visible in New Zealand, Australia, Antarctica and islands in the Pacific Ocean, where the Moon will block 85% of the Sun.
However, it will be impossible to see the phenomenon from Ukraine, as the eclipse will occur when the Sun drops below the horizon.
It was previously reported that anyone interested will be able to watch the solar eclipse in online broadcasts that will be conducted by astronomical services and scientific organizations.
