The most active fighting is taking place in the industrial zone: what is known about the situation in Pokrovsk

Russian occupation forces are increasing the pace of assaults in the Pokrovsk area of Donetsk Oblast, however, Ukrainian defenders are holding the front line, repelling enemy attacks.

This was reported by the press service of the 7th Corps of the State Security Service.

Thus, over the past week, the Russians attacked units of the Airborne Assault Forces 132 times, which is almost 20% more than in the previous period.

The defense forces are stopping the Russians from gaining a foothold in the city’s high-rise buildings, which the enemy plans to use as commanding heights.

“Such countermeasures allow other units of the Defense Forces to carry out tasks to clear the enemy from the city,” the Defense Ministry explained.

Ukrainian soldiers are currently clearing the northern districts of Pokrovsk. The most active fighting in the city is taking place in the industrial zone. The defense forces are controlling the Russian infiltration routes into this part, so the occupiers have limited opportunities to replenish resources.

In turn, the Russian army is concentrating its efforts in other areas of the city and on the western outskirts to create conditions for a further offensive on the settlement of Hryshyne.

“The Ukrainian military is deterring the enemy, in particular, thanks to a multi-lane defense system. Logistics in Hryshyn allows us to carry out the specified tasks,” the military noted.

At the same time, the operation to defend Myrnograd, which the Russians are attempting from the southeast, is ongoing. However, the DSHV assured that logistics are currently being provided, and food and ammunition supplies are being delivered on time.

It was previously reported that the situation in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, remains difficult. Russian troops are seeking to create conditions there for a complete encirclement of the city .

As a reminder, Russian troops are actively strengthening their positions in Pokrovsk and accumulating resources capable of conducting surveillance and striking the entire settlement. Control over key approaches to the city has not yet been achieved, which poses a serious threat to Ukrainian defenders.

As is known, despite complicated logistics , Ukrainian units are conducting rotation and evacuation in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd .
