The National Guard received the first 10 Ukrainian Protector robots: what are they used for?

The National Guard of Ukraine has received the first 10 Protector robotic logistics complexes. In total, 100 such vehicles were contracted for NGU units with financial support from the German government.
This was reported by the National Association of Defense Industry Enterprises of Ukraine (NAUDI).
It is noted that the first batch was transferred to four units.
The Protector is designed for frontline logistics and evacuation. The complex can transport ammunition, food, fuel and other cargo, as well as evacuate the wounded. This reduces the risks for the military when performing such tasks.
The machine is capable of carrying up to 1480 kg of cargo. The Protector can also tow a trailer weighing up to 4 tons.
The CEO of the Ukrainian Armored Equipment company, Vladyslav Belbas, noted that the complex is already being used by the military.
“Robotization of logistics allows us to perform important tasks without undue risk to personnel,” he said.
Protector is already operating, in particular, in a separate artillery brigade of the NGU and is to be involved in the Dobropil direction.
Brigade Sergeant Yevgeny Kochergin said that the military positively evaluates the vehicle.
“I especially want to note the sensitivity and smoothness of control in conditions that are far from ideal. The power, speed and load capacity speak for themselves,” he noted.
He said it was particularly important for artillerymen to be able to transport heavy ammunition to positions more safely. The Protector is expected to help reduce the risks to personnel during such transports.
As a reminder, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful discussed with the Ukrainian side the strengthening of air defense and defense cooperation during his visit to Kyiv. Berlin continues negotiations with European partners on additional missiles for Patriot systems and is looking for opportunities for further support for Ukraine.
