The National Police exposed a Russian spy network that was preparing terrorist attacks in Ukraine and EU countries: details

The National Police of Ukraine, together with European partners, exposed a Russian spy network that was preparing murders and terrorist attacks in Ukraine and EU countries.

This is reported by the National Police.

The network included citizens of Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Latvia, and Greece. According to the investigation, the targets included Ukrainian journalists, a serviceman of the State Security Service, and foreigners who support Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers have already reported 13 people to the police. Nine of the suspects were detained in European Union countries, and European arrest warrants have been issued for four more.

Among the potential victims are a Russian opposition figure and a Lithuanian pro-Ukrainian activist who openly oppose Russian policy.

The investigation established that the network members were monitoring specific individuals, collecting data on their routes and contacts, and planning their physical elimination.

The police documented the contacts of the suspects with representatives of Russian special services, as well as the facts of recruiting Ukrainian citizens, including minors and vulnerable groups.

Law enforcement officers made arrests in Lithuania and other EU countries, and conducted searches in Ukraine, Poland, and Greece. They also identified individuals who financed and coordinated the network’s activities.
