The Netherlands will donate transformers of various capacities to Ukraine and provide financial assistance totaling €23 million to support the energy sector, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a telephone conversation with Auke de Vries, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the conversation, he briefed them on the current state of Ukraine’s energy system, particularly the situation in the Kharkiv region.
The parties agreed on the supply of transformers of varying capacities, as well as on the Netherlands’ contribution of 23 million euros to support the Ukrainian energy sector.
Auke de Vries assured that the Netherlands will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine in the energy sector. Denys Shmyhal, for his part, thanked them for their consistent and ongoing support.
It’s worth noting that Russia has dealt the most powerful blow to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure since early 2026. Electricity generation and distribution facilities were targeted.
As a reminder, during the night attack , Russian troops launched 71 missiles and 450 attack drones at Ukraine .
Earlier, the president announced that the Ukrainian negotiating team would adjust its work in the wake of the massive Russian missile and drone attack on several regions.
