The Netherlands will no longer supply weapons to Ukraine: the reason is known

The Netherlands can no longer provide direct military assistance to Ukraine, as it has already exhausted its capabilities. At the same time, the country will continue to support Kyiv in other ways and will call on allies to increase assistance.

This was stated by Dutch Defense Minister Dylan Jeshilgos-Zegerius on the sidelines of the NATO summit, Bloomberg reports.

“We, as the Netherlands, have no more options because we have already done so much,” said Yesilgöz-Zegerius.

According to her, Amsterdam will continue to call on other countries to increase military support for Ukraine.

Separately, the minister was asked about the possibility of transferring new missiles to the Patriot systems. She replied that the country no longer has the necessary resources for this.

“We have reached the limit of our capabilities,” the head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense emphasized.

According to official figures, the Netherlands has already allocated 9.1 billion euros for military support to Ukraine. In addition, the country has planned another 11.6 billion euros in aid.

The Dutch government has also allocated 1 billion euros for the PURL program, under which European allies finance the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine.

As a reminder, the Netherlands announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million euros. The funds will be used to purchase drones, air defense systems, and other weapons.

As reported, the Ukrainian Navy received another mine countermeasures ship from the Kingdom of the Netherlands within the framework of the Maritime Capabilities Coalition . The transferred minesweeper “Genichesk” became the fifth mine countermeasures ship in the Ukrainian fleet.
