On July 22, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs added the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapaty, to the wanted list.
This is reported by Russian media.
Information about the general with the “Wanted” mark appeared in the Russian database shortly after his appointment. However, the article of the Russian Criminal Code under which he is wanted is not indicated in the card.
This is not the first time Russian law enforcement agencies have made claims against Drapaty. Earlier, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in absentia announced charges against him related to commanding Ukrainian troops during the fighting in Donbas in 2017 and 2019.
In particular, according to the Russian investigation, during the specified period, Drapatiy, together with Viktor Nikoliuk, led the Joint Forces operation. The Russian side claims that under their command, the Ukrainian military allegedly carried out more than 70 shellings of settlements in the territory of the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”, as a result of which, according to its claims, 154 people were killed and injured. The Russian side did not provide any confirmation or evidence of these statements.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the appointment of Mykhailo Drapaty as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine . Oleksandr Syrskyy will complete his duties in this position and hand over the affairs to the new leadership.
