The number of drones in the Defense Forces has increased significantly: how the military uses them on the front

National Guard spokesman Ruslan Muzychuk said that since the beginning of 2025, the number of drones of various types in the Defense Forces has doubled.

He spoke about this on the air of the telethon.

“This includes both FPV drones and Mavic and drones with combat payloads. We have significantly strengthened this component,” the spokesperson explained.

According to him, the enemy is also increasing the number of UAVs, in particular, fiber-optic drones are being massively recorded in the Kharkiv region, as well as in the Donetsk region – near Chasovy Yar, in the Torets and Pokrov directions.

At the same time, Muzychuk assured that the number of FPV drones at the front has doubled, and in some places tripled.

“Drones are now used not so much to destroy armored vehicles or other equipment, but to create so-called kill zones — areas where the enemy cannot advance to our positions or control points to gain a foothold or accumulate forces,” he said.

Recall that in July, drones hit more than 23 thousand Russian targets . The lion’s share of hits was carried out using FPV drones and night bombers.
