The number of victims of the Russian strike in Kyiv has doubled

In Kyiv, at least, the number of victims and injured people has increased sharply as a result of the Russian night strike on the city.

This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office and the Metropolitan Police .

As of 8 a.m., four victims were known, including a 12-year-old child. Two people died in the Podilskyi district, and two more in Obolonskyi.

In addition, according to updated information from the Kyiv police, the number of victims has increased to 56, including two children, three law enforcement officers, four medics, and two foreigners.

In total, 17 high-rise buildings, 10 private homes, a hotel, an office center, a car dealership, a gas station, and a shopping mall were damaged in the city due to the attack.

Law enforcement officers are recording the consequences of the enemy strike on the capital. At the same time, under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of committing a war crime that caused the death of a person – Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on the night of Thursday, April 16, Russian occupation forces launched a missile strike on Kyiv . There were deaths and injuries, and destruction and fires occurred in several areas of the city.
