The temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region was completely without electricity.
The occupation “Ministry of Energy” reported this.
In particular, the Russians blamed the Ukrainian military for the power outage, which allegedly “damaged power facilities.”
“There is no electricity supply throughout the region,” the occupiers noted.
Gauleiter Yevgeny Balitsky assured that socially significant facilities have been switched to backup power sources. Generators are providing water supply and critical infrastructure.
He expects the light to appear this evening.
As a reminder, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been operating on backup diesel generators for over a week , creating serious safety risks.
The National Resistance Center previously warned that fuel shortages in the temporarily occupied territories pose a threat to the operation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
At the same time, Energoatom noted that the Russian occupiers are deliberately failing to restore the plant’s connection to external grids . A prolonged blackout at the Zaporizhzhya NPP poses serious risks not only for Ukraine but for all of Europe, as such actions by the occupiers could result in a nuclear catastrophe.
