Russian occupation troops are making attempts to “probe” the border with Ukraine in the northern regions, in particular in several areas in Sumy region.

This was stated by Viktor Tregubov, head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Group, during a telethon.

According to him, as of now, the Russians are in the settlement of Grabovskoe, where they previously breached the border. They managed to gain a foothold there.

Currently, the occupiers have advanced from the border deep into the Sumy region by about a kilometer.

Tregubov explained that the enemy tried to break through Ukrainian defenses in other places in Sumy Oblast as well. The Russians attempted an offensive near the village of Pokrovka.

“They also went within one kilometer, but just the other day it was finally cleared, they were kicked out of there. They are still being kept in Grabovske, let’s see what happens next,” the soldier said.

He suggested that such actions by the enemy may indicate attempts to penetrate the Ukrainian defense line.

“There were, rather, sporadic attacks along our zone of responsibility in Sumy region in various settlements. Not so much an attempt to push through specifically in Grabovske, as there were attempts in the same Pokrovka, in Vesele they pressed a little there. It was like probing our border at various points,” Tregubov added.

As is known, Russian troops continue to attempt to advance in the Sumy region , but Ukrainian units are holding their positions and repelling attacks.

It was previously reported that Russian troops had advanced in the Sumy region and occupied the settlement of Novomykolaivka.
