Russian military executed a captured Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier during fighting in the Pokrovsk area.
The press service of the Donbass prosecutor’s office reported this.
According to investigators, the incident occurred in November 2025 near the village of Ignatovka in the Pokrovsky district. During an assault on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions, Russian troops surrounded and captured a Ukrainian defender.
After the capture, one of the occupiers tied the soldier’s hands, and another hit him repeatedly in the head with a rifle butt. When the soldier stopped reacting, the Russians shot him.
The prosecutor’s office has opened a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder. Investigators are taking urgent action to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved in the execution.
