Since June 6, Russian occupation authorities have imposed restrictions on the movement of passenger transport and private vehicles on two main routes connecting Russia with the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and Crimea.

Russian media reported this.

The restrictions apply to regular intercity bus routes and private transport traveling on the following highways:

  • R-280 “Novorossiya” (Rostov-on-Don – Mariupol – Melitopol – Simferopol);
  • R-150 (Belgorod – Starobelsk – Lugansk – Donetsk – Mariupol).

According to the occupation administration, the restrictions apply to transportation from the temporarily occupied Luhansk region to the captured areas of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, as well as to Crimea.

Residents are advised to refrain from traveling on these routes. However, internal bus services will continue to operate with modified routes.

In addition, the occupation authorities temporarily banned the transportation of organized groups of children within the temporarily occupied Luhansk region and suspended commuter train service.

The Russian administration explained these steps by allegedly increasing attacks on transport. At the same time, restrictions have been imposed on key logistics routes that Russia uses to connect its regions with the occupied Ukrainian territories.
