The oldest church in the Mostytskyi massif: a temple in Kyiv was damaged due to an attack by the Russian Federation

As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv on September 24, the Holy Intercession Church in Vynohradar was damaged. One of the oldest churches in the Mostytskyi massif and Vynohradar, built in 1906, was damaged.

This was announced by the head of the Podilskyi Regional State Administration, Volodymyr Nakonechnyi.

According to him, the church’s windows, domes, and ancient facade made of yellow Kyiv brick were damaged. This part of the building has preserved the history of the district for over a hundred years.

“The Holy Intercession Church, a church from 1906, the oldest church in the Mostytskyi massif and Vynohradar, suffered from the enemy attack,” the report says. 

Nakonechny noted that the Russian attack caused damage not only to residential and civilian infrastructure, but also to the historical and spiritual heritage of Kyiv.

It was previously reported that Russia attacked Kyiv on the night of September 24. Debris was recorded falling in several areas of the capital, there is destruction and fires.
