The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnik, asked residents of the region not to block roads due to the power outage and assured that power would be restored by the end of the day on January 11.
He announced this on social media following widespread videos of local residents blocking traffic in Gorenichi and Sofiivska Borshahivka.
According to Kalashnik, approximately 25,000 customers in the Kyiv region are currently without power. He emphasized that power workers are working continuously in challenging freezing conditions, and they plan to restore power to all populated areas by the end of the day.
“I understand your frustration over the prolonged power outage. Road closures and traffic jams will do nothing to speed up the restoration of power,” the head of the OVA stated.
As a reminder, on the night of January 9, Kyiv was subjected to a massive combined attack by enemy UAVs , which resulted in damage to residential buildings and infrastructure in several areas of the city.
Incidentally, emergency power outages have been imposed in the capital as a result of the large-scale attack. The situation is most severe on the left bank.
As is known, critical infrastructure in Kyiv has been damaged following a massive combined attack by the enemy. Nearly 6,000 apartment buildings are without heat , and water supply interruptions are also being reported in the city.
